Whisper Sweet Nothings is book 6, the final installment for the Rosewood River series. Featuring Archer Chadwick and Winnie Smith, this book has some of my favorite tropes: single dad, nanny, forced proximity, and age gap. Let me tell you, this one definitely tested my patience a time or fifty! Archer, like some of our previous Chadwick brothers and cousins, had a lot of hot and cold action when it came to his leading lady. He spent a lot of time pointing out their approximately 9.5 year age difference, when I honestly felt Winnie tended to exhibit a lot more overall maturity. Especially when **slight spoiler** there was some dating involved with OW/OM and dates were attempted to be sabatoged. I was proud of her for knowing her worth. I really loved how Winnie stuck in there with Archer, knowing that a lot of his less evolved and wishy washy behavior was primarily fear based, rather than a lack of desire for her. Also, can’t forget about everyone’s favorite niece Melody. She was adorable and literally the ideal kid, almost suspiciously perfect.
Something that kind of confused me a bit was that everyone was suddenly calling Archer, “Archie”, ever 5 minutes! I literally didn’t hear that nickname until book 5, and it was maybe three times lol.
As I received an ALC, I would be remiss not to mention the fabulous duet performance by Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood. I think I mentioned this in another review, but it remains that Mr. York is to single dad and age gap, as hot fudge is to sundaes 🔥 🥵
We got a big preview of who will start off the next series, but I won’t ruin it here – just know that we have met both our next MCs and I can’t wait to see what kind of magic they create!
