This was such a great audiobook experience – a definite 5 star listen. I love romantic suspense, but this also had a cozy mystery feel as well. It had a decent amount of spice without distracting from the story overall. I definitely didn’t see a couple of twists coming towards the end, and as Dakota Davies is a new to me author, I love that she can totally surprise her readers like that!

Sophie and Zack were two lost and broken souls who I think could have only gravitated towards each other in that moment of their lives. I felt for Zack and his seemingly perpetual bad luck, but I’m glad he had good people around him in Finn River and back home in Alaska. Barb & Henry were so dear, I hope future books revisit this lovely older couple.

I loved the narration by (new to me) narrator Laura Horowitz and Robert Hatchet. They both felt like great casting for Sophie and Zack. Honestly, the only thing I could have possibly liked more would have been if this had been a duet performance, but I’m greedy like that, lol.

I can’t wait for Kiraly’s book next and to find out more about Zacks best friend, Sawyer! I will definitely be inhaling the rest of this series as it’s released lol.
