In book 3 of Stacey Lynn’s Kelley Family Novels, we get to know more about single dad, Gavin Kelley.

Wow, I absolutely adored Gavin, Penny, and little Josie! I had been waiting for Gavin’s story since I read his two older brothers stories, and this did not disappoint!

Gavin is VERY gun shy when it comes to women and having them infiltrate the little family he has built with his daughter Josie. So when he finds himself inexplicably drawn to his daughter’s new teacher, Penny Pesco, he fights it with everything in him.

Penny has lived a difficult life and has worked incredibly hard to find a career she loves and a town where she can find peace. She feels she has finally achieved both when she signs on to be the last minute replacement teacher. Then she meets Gavin, a man who kind of disturbs that inner peace she’s been looking for. Then, he starts trying to take care of her – and that’s totally out of her comfort zone. I can totally relate to Penny on that one, I’m the caretaker in my life and really don’t know how to let others do the same for me.

I really loved how through all the unnecessary difficulty that the adults keep throwing in the mix, Josie is there the whole time sprinkling her pixie dust, because in her heart she knows this is supposed to be her new family.

This was another beautifully written installment in the Kelley Family saga and I cannot wait for book 4!
