Narrated by Teddy Hamilton & Andi Arndt
So, I initially read this first (at work shhh!) But when I found out there was going to be an audiobook and who the narrators were, I immediately signed up to review!
First, the story: This is the saga of Drew & Audrey. They first meet in college, she’s his tutor and he is the hockey star. They pretty much click immediately, but it isn’t until they are about to go their separate ways, with Drew moving out of the country to start his pro hockey career, that they have a ONS. As planned, Drew takes off and surprise surprise, leaves Audrey with a little parting gift. Years later they reconnect and Audrey is both pissed and scared about what Drew’s sudden reappearing in her life means for her and her son.
Ok, so I’m not usually a big fan of second chance romance or the guy having a kid he doesn’t know about and is off happily living his best life. That said, I initially was solidly on team Audrey and was not feeling Drew. BUT, he soon showed that not only was he ready to step up for his son, but that he wanted to be there for Audrey as well. I also loved Audrey and her family in general. I thought it was amazing that despite having an unplanned pregnancy and becoming a mom way before she was ready, she still got her degree and became a total girl boss! There was definitely good chemistry between Audrey and Drew, and I loved his interactions with Graham. I was definitely shipping this little family by the end.
Narration: Teddy Hamilton has yet to disappoint me on anything he has read – that guy is perfect casting for so many different types of characters and he was perfect for Drew. Andi Arndt is another power house narrator who has extreme range. Her portrayal of Audrey, the kind of uptight single mom who wants to break out of her rut and be a little bit wild, it was perfect!
I am so ready to take on Colt & Jules story next!
